This tomato soup is such a delight! It’s the perfect example of what you can do with simple ingredients perfectly combined together! A simple and easy recipe for a tomato soup with rice that tastes fantastic!

Tomato soup with rice

Prep: 10m | Cook: 15m | Total: 25m | Serves: 4


  • 500g fresh grated tomatoes, peeled and deseeded (4-5 tomatoes)
  • 1 tsp Fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 100g rice labeled for soups or pudding, washed and drained (1/3 cup).
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 2 cups of water
  • 20g Butter unsalted (1 Tbsp)
  • 1 Tbsp cream cheese for every serving
  • 1 pinch of Salt
  • Freshly grounded Black pepper


  1. Peel and deseed the tomatoes.
  2. Use a food processor or a blender to blend the tomatoes.
  3. Add them in a pot over high heat and bring to a boil.
  4. Add 2 cups of water followed by 1 clove of garlic crushed, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes or until the rice is ready, which also means our soup is ready.
  6. After the soup is ready at 1 Tbsp of unsalted butter and stir until it melts.
  7. Serve your soup with 1 Tbsp cream cheese, a little finely chopped fresh basil, and a pinch of freshly grounded black pepper.
